Ottawa Chiropractor Health and Wellness Blog

I just came across this amazing research about the benefits of chiropractic care in the long term.  Many people think their chiropractor should be used only when you are in pain but this research proves otherwise! The long term benefits of holistic Chiropractor guided care is even better than the short term benefits seen for pain and or acute injury.

Research on benefits of Chiropractic Care

The article was published in the Journal of Manipulative & Physiological Therapeutics (JMPT 2007).  This scientific study of over 800 people over 7 years followed a group of individuals who had a Chiropractor as their primary health care provider vs a similar size group who used a traditional medical approach to their healthcare.

The results were amazing! The Chiropractic group had the following benefits of Chiropractic care over the medical group.

1.       A Benefit of 60% less hospital admissions

2.       A benefit of 59% less hospital days

3.       A Benefit of 62% less surgeries

4.       A benefit of 85% less pharmaceutical cost

Each Adjustment Builds on The Previous

One of the things we tell our patients at Arc of Life Chiropractic in Ottawa is that each adjustment builds on the previous.  Your nervous system is able to constantly upgrade with each adjustment.  Each specific adjustment is a software upgrade for your computer. What we see from this study is that using chiropractic care as a healthcare strategy instead of a short term solution for pain you and your family will be healthier and require less outside in intervention.  There is benefit in the short term as well but it just gets better and better if you continue to have a great chiropractor as part of your healthcare team.  Find out more on our website Ottawa Chiropractor or how Registered Massage therapy is also part of the big picture.
